High-quality Chinese medicine to manage teenage acne, aging skin and persistent pain

Zoe is warm and inviting

I have been a patient of Zoe’s for a few months now. She is very professional in the way she goes about her work. She has a very warm and inviting manner and makes you feel very comfortable when you step into the clinic. She is passionate about her work and is very thorough. It is a pleasure to come in and spend time with Zoe. It is my ME time as I need to look after myself before I can look after my family. You can’t give from an empty cup.

General acupuncture

Acupuncture has been practised for thousands of years. It involves the insertion of fine needles at specific parts of your body to create a therapeutic reaction. Acupuncture is painless (although you may feel a prick when needles are inserted). It’s very effective in treating pain, and increasing mobility. It can also be used for a range of other conditions including:

  • Muscle health and energy
  • Acne and dermatological conditions
  • Digestive complaints
  • Arthritis
  • Hay fever
  • Recurrent colds or infections
  • Insomnia
  • Stress or anxiety management
  • Hormonal Acne
  • Menopausal or menstrual irregularities (e.g. PCOS, amenorrhoea, and so on).

Acupuncture enables your body to enter a complete state of rest, so it’s not uncommon to fall asleep during treatment. Acupuncture can also be done in conjunction with cupping, which assists with muscular tension, cold and flu, and stress relief.

Cosmetic acupuncture

Facial rejuvenation acupuncture (also known as cosmetic acupuncture) is a non-invasive, natural method of skin rejuvenation. As well as being used as a treatment to naturally lift and tighten facial muscles, it may also hydrate skin, increase collagen and elastin production, and soften facial lines. This type of treatment can be used for:

  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Skin spots
  • Facial dryness
  • Facial drooping
  • Facial tension
  • Wrinkles and lines
  • Dull skin
  • Bell’s palsy.

An initial treatment session is 90 minutes where I will take a detailed health history, and you are free to ask questions. Along with acupuncture you will relax into a facial massage where gua sha and jade roller tools are used.

Follow up treatments are 75 minutes long, which also includes the luxe gua sha and jade roller treatment to encourage lymphatic drainage and promote microcirculation to the face.

Acne treatment for teens and adults

Chinese herbal medicine has been used for dermatological conditions for thousands of years. Instead of applying harsh chemicals or using the latest fad for acne treatment, I offer natural acne treatments in the form of herbal medicine and acupuncture. Both these treatments aim to support physiological function within your body, to reduce inflammation associated with hormonal acne and promote skin regeneration. I can also recommend dietary or lifestyle changes that will promote healthy skin.

Pain relief

Neck, shoulder, back and knee pain are experienced by most people on a daily basis. Often this pain can be linked to recurring postural issues, previous injury and stress. Chinese Medicine can effectively relieve and help pain — both chronic and acute — through distal acupuncture (acupuncture away from the site of injury) and stretching or strengthening exercises.

Herbal medicine

Herbal medicine is an integral part of Chinese Medicine. Herbal medicine is often used to strengthen the body, and promote optimal function of your body to prevent and manage illness. Using the knowledge I gather during our consultation, I make up a herbal formula that is specifically suited to you. This unique formula will address any accompanying digestive, sleep, emotional or hormonal issues that may be occurring along with your main health concern.

I was relaxed the whole time.

I went to see Zoe for treatments over a 6 week period earlier this year and it was a treat. She is such a lovely practitioner. The whole session had such a relaxing vibe, from the welcoming clinic to the very personable way she interacts with her clients. I have referred her to friends of mine and they all have gone to see her numerous times and agree.
